Staff and customers of the Co-operative store in Bridgend Street have raised over £800 for the Big Bute Weekend in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Co-op’s Stuart Naismith presented a cheque for £810 to Beverley Scoullar of Macmillan Cancer Support and Big Bute Weekend organiser Denise McMillan, which will be added to the Palliative Care Fund on Bute.

The money for the campaign was raised through a ‘staff night-in’, and the in-store raffle of a Samsung 40” LED television.

Staff at the local branch would like to thank all the customers who helped support their efforts for such an important cause.
