A Bute-based charity opened the doors of its new Rothesay shop on Saturday.

The Brianne Roberts Trust’s shop is located in East Princes Street, next door to The Bike Shed and only a short walk from the pier.

Kim Roberts from the Trust said: “We’ve been thinking about opening up a shop for a while but the opportunity to move into this unit came up quite quickly.

“We only picked up the keys on Tuesday, and we’ve been working night and day to get it ready!”

The Brianne Roberts Trust is named after Kim’s daughter Brianne, who was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2005, when she was just three years old, but has now been in remission for more than five years.

The Trust now offers a free holiday home facility for families coping with childhood cancers.
