Bute-based charity Calum’s Cabin is featured in a new animated film promoting the good causes supported by National Lottery funding.
The 90-second animation, starring the voices of actor Ricky Tomlinson and Olympic medallists Sir Chris Hoy and Beth Tweddle, features Lottery-funded projects across the arts, sport, heritage and voluntary sectors.
Calum’s Cabin is included as a result of a £20,000 Lottery award to help build and equip the charity’s original holiday home, near St Ninian’s Bay on the island’s west coast, and to help expand the project to provide for more families.
Calum’s Cabin was established to provide get-away-from-it-all holidays for seriously ill children and their families. It was set up to honour the wishes of Calum Speirs from Rothesay, who died aged 12 in 2007 after a year-long battle against a brain tumour.
