A brand new mini cruise liner built on Bute is to go on show to the public at Rothesay pier this weekend.

The Majestic Line’s MV Glen Etive will be open to visitors between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, April 16.

The ship was built at the Ardmaleish Boatbuilding Company’s yard near Port Bannatyne, and was officially named by Scottish actress Barbara Rafferty at the Holy Loch Marina in Sandbank on April 5.

The interior of the ship was fitted out by local company Bute Homes and the carpets supplied by another Rothesay firm, Bussey’s Beds and Carpets.
