The new-look website for VisitBute, the tourism and marketing organisation for the island, went live on Monday.
The new site features a number of behind-the-scenes changes aimed at making the site easier for VisitBute’s members to manage than in the past.
At the time of writing this article the www.visitbute.com address still takes web surfers to a holding page announcing that “we are redeveloping the visitBute website and it will be live very soon” - though the new site can be accessed by clicking on www.visitbute.com/homepage/.
The new-look site, like its predecessor, features dedicated sections for news and events, accommodation, where to eat and drink, things to do and places to shop, as well as guides on how to reach the island and how to get around once you arrive.
The VisitBute website was relaunched in June 2012 as part of a rebranding exercise for the island carried out by Blue Square Design, which also powered and hosted the site, but at a meeting earlier this year, members of the organisation made it clear they wanted a web portal which was much easier for local businesses and organisations to update when required.
