VIDEO: Tenements in focus at Rothesay information day

Tenement flat owners in Rothesay were given the chance to find out more about how to look after their building at an event in the town on Saturday.

Tenement management expert Annie Flint and conservation architect John Gilbert were on hand at the Discovery Centre to provide information on problem areas to look out for, what short-term steps to take to keep homes warm and dry and how to maintain tenement buildings in the longer term.

The event, organised by the Rothesay Townscape Heritage Initiative to mark the start of National Maintenance Week, featured a 30-minute film looking at the tenement buildings in the THI priority area in the centre of the town with the help of some fascinating aerial photographs - although the handy tips contained within the film could equally be applied to tenements elsewhere.

“The THI is very willing to help people with their buildings,” Annie said, “so in the THI area, if you want to get repairs done please contact their office.”
