The manager of Bute’s tourist information centre says she’s been “absolutely overwhelmed” by the quality of work in a brochure competition for S1 pupils at Rothesay Academy.
Hazel Mulholland was describing the efforts of the school’s first year computing pupils, who have taken part in the second year of a competition to design a brochure promoting the island.
Last year’s competition was set for just one of teacher Tony Greer’s classes, but now it encompasses the entire year group of computing pupils, and asks that the students design a brochure which will promote the island.
This year’s winner is Molly Doyle who received a £20 voucher for Amazon, and will have her brochure displayed in the Discovery Centre. In second place was Lauren McMillan who won two cinema tickets and a bag of sweets, third was Kiera Seath who also received two cinema tickets and sweets. In fourth place was Hollie Hotchkiss who took home a box of chocolates, and in fifth place was Elizabeth Harley who received a bag of sweets.
Miss Mulholland told us: “We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the high standard of work the pupils have produced.”
