Public meeting on Bute broadband improvements

A public meeting is to be held on Bute next month to discuss ways of improving broadband connection speeds at the south end of the island.

The meeting, at Kingarth Hotel on Tuesday, September 10, has been organised after residents of Kilchattan Bay enlisted the help of Community Broadband Scotland to try and improve provision in the area, where householders have to endure connection speeds of 0.5 megabytes per second (Mbps) or less.

Kilchattan Bay resident Anne Bissell said: “It will be a completely open meeting and I would like everybody to be able to have their say, because broadband speeds are a problem for the whole island, not just Kilchattan Bay.”
