BUTE Fabrics has announced the appointment of two well-known local faces to the company’s board of directors.
John Black, who joined the company in January 2010, has been appointed to the board as financial director and Eddie Planck as its operations director - only the second person to hold the latter post in the history of the firn.
Announcing the appointments in an email to staff, managing director James Sprint said the moves to bolster the company’s board would augment the company’s “strong financial statement” to the outside world.
Of the new appointees, Mr Sprint said: “Eddie’s contribution over 27 years is exemplary.
“His technical knowledge is excellent, his demeanour most welcoming and most importantly his management style has induced an incredibly low level of staff turnover.
“This combination has meant that while he has acted as manager, coach and trainer, we have had a very enviable, low level of rejects that could be measured in small parts per million.
“Since John came to the company, the accuracy of his work has been proved irrefutable. His control of cash through debtor and creditor days has been a model of excellence. His demeanour is also most welcoming and he has fitted in to a long established team very well indeed.”
The company’s other directors are Stephen Jenkins and Catherine Murray.
