A former school captain of Rothesay Academy has been shortlisted for a national marketing award for her work and achievements in the industry.

Kirsty Ferguson, who currently works as a senior marketing executive for broadcaster STV, has been nominated in the ‘Development’ category for the ‘Rising Marketing Star’ award in the Marketing Society Star Awards 2015.

Pupils from Rothesay Academy received first-hand advice from Kirsty last year when she was invited as guest-speaker and presenter of prizes at the school’s annual prize-giving ceremony.

There were a record number of entries for this year’s awards - which will be hosted by television host and journalist, Rick Edwards - and Kirsty will face competition in her category from four other nominees.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on June 18 at the Glasgow Science Centre.
