Fight on to save top Bute tourist attraction

ConcernS have been expressed this week that one of Bute’s best-loved tourist attractions could be allowed to fall into ruins under new ownership.

Ascog Hall and its adjacent Victorian fernery are currently up for sale, and pteridologist, or fern enthusiast, Frank McGavigan contacted The Buteman this week to voice his fear for the future of the award-winning visitor attraction.

“This unique piece of Bute’s Victorian heritage is in danger of being lost as the major tourist attraction it deserves to be,” Mr McGavigan said.
