The countdown is on for this year’s Bute Agricultural Society annual show, with plenty of fun planned for all the family.
Taking place in Rothesay’s public park on Wednesday, August 12, this year’s show promises a jam-packed programme of events and activities, with something for everyone whether you’re competing or visiting as a spectator.
A selection of children’s amusements will keep little ones entertained, while older visitors will be sure to enjoy the vintage tractor display and various trade stalls around the park.
A tug-o-war will separate the men from the boys (and women from the girls!), and the crowds will undoubtedly be wowed by a gun dog display showing the intelligence, agility and obedience of these super animals.
For competitors there will be plenty of opportunities to show off their best of their livestock and produce, with showing of dairy, highland and beef cattle, clydesdales, light horses, sheep, poultry, dogs, pets, and domestic produce. As always the annual dog show will surely be hotly contested with pooches and owners hoping to impress the judges, with proceeds from the show going to Macmillan Cancer Support on Bute.
With bar and food facilities also on offer, it’ll be a day for all the family to enjoy.
Judging starts at 11am and the light horse classes begin at 10am.
We’ll see you there!
