The Ardmaleish Boatbuilding Company in Port Bannatyne has won a contract to build a new purpose-built boat for an Argyll-based cruise ship company.

The new vessel, MV Glen Etive, which is currently under construction, will join the Majestic Line’s two existing refurbished boats, which operate around Argyll and the Hebrides, and will be finished in traditional wood and brass, with spacious accommodation and a steel-based hull.

MV Glen Etive, when launched in April 2016, will offer ten-day cruises to Islay, Skye, the Outer Hebrides and St Kilda, as well as six-day cruises to Skye and the Small Isles.
