Bute resident discount for Mount Stuart tourism summit

Residents of Bute are being offered a discount on the delegate fee for the Argyll and the Isles Tourism Summit, taking place at Mount Stuart on March 13.

The standard delegate fee for the event is £48 (£40+VAT), but residents on Bute can take advantage of a 20 per cent discount, reducing the fee to £38.40.

The event will in clude question-and-answer sessions with the summit’s three guest speakers - Riddell Graham, director of partnerships at VisitScotland, CalMac Ferries Ltd chief executive Martin Dorchester and Stephen Leckie, chairman of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, who will close both the summit and Scottish Tourism Week, which runs from March 4 to 13.

In an email to VisitBute members, the organisation’s tourism officer Leo Plaster said: “VisitBute would encourage you to register your place now and contribute to what will be a milestone event in our journey towards 2014, when Scotland welcomes the world for the Commonwealth Games, Ryder Cup and our second year of Homecoming.

“This is also a fantastic opportunity for Bute business owners and residents to showcase what we have to the rest of Argyll.

“The delegates visiting will undoubtedly tell people about their visit to Bute so we want to make it as positive an experience as possible.”
