Bute firm buys Rothesay Creamery site

THE site of the former Rothesay Creamery, closed since May 2010, has been bought by local firm Bute Island Foods Ltd.

The company, which manufactures and exports Sheese, a dairy-free vegan alternative to cheese, have purchased the Townhead site and buildings from First Milk, which shut the facility almost two years ago, citing falling sales of Isle of Bute Cheddar and rising operating costs.
