Local textile firm, Bute Fabrics, has won the Scottish Export Team of the Year award in the BQ Scottish Export Awards 2015.

The leading fabric designer and producer was presented with the accolade at an awards ceremony in Glasgow Hilton on Tuesday, March 31, which recognises and celebrates the contributions made by Scottish companies in the world of export and international trade.

The award was accepted by managing director, James MacAdam Sprint, on behalf of the team.

Marketing manager, Fiona Hardie, told us: “We’re delighted as it recognises the efforts of everyone in the mill in expanding our sales in existing and new export markets.”

The team at Bute Fabrics were presented with the award, rather fittingly, by one of the firm’s clients, Arbroath-based designer Steven Patrick Sim, who was visiting the mill to collect the first bales of woven Declaration Tartan - more on that story will follow.
