A former Rothesay Academy pupil who runs a successful jewellery firm has given her backing to a new ‘Bute Young Entrepreneur’ contest.
Mhairi Mackenzie, whose ‘Bonnie Bling’ jewellery manufacturing operation was based on the island until a change in Mhairi’s personal circumstances last year, has given her support to the idea, which we revealed here earlier this week.
“I think projects that support entrepreneurship should definitely be encouraged,” Mhairi said.
“There is great potential on Bute - I was unable to stay due to personal circumstances, but Bonnie Bling thrived whilst on the island and I would love to return some day.
“I hope the scheme attracts lots of bright ideas. Who knows what could be the next big thing?”
