BUTE Community Council has invited members of the public to take part in a survey on whether vehicle parking should be formally permitted on the Rothesay promenade.
The survey’s launch this week follows two months of debate at BCC’s meetings, in The Buteman’s letters page and online over whether vehicle parking should be officially allowed in an area which has traditionally been for pedestrians only and has thus never been regarded as an adopted road by the local authorities.
The survey simply asks ‘Should parking be permitted on the Prom?’, and respondents will be asked to submit their name and address and to express their opinon with a simple X in the Yes or No column.
The survey can be filled in at The Buteman office and at Toffoletti’s and Julie’s (formerly Muriel’s) newsagents, the Electric Bakery, Bute Dental Surgery, the Discovery Centre, Rothesay pier and at Rothesay and Port Bannatyne post offices.
The closing date for responses is Tuesday, November 15.
