Former Rothesay Academy pupil Zara Kane completed the Inverness Half Marathon in two hours and ten minutes recently to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
In extremely trying conditions, with icy cold winds and heavy rain, Zaran ran the course in memory of her grandad, Michael O’Kane, and her grandpa, Ian Pearson, who both died from the disease.
The Inverness event was Zara’s second half-marathon, following her debut run in Edinburgh last year in which she clocked a finishing time of two hours and 29 minutes.
Her Inverness run sets her up for the Edinburgh half marathon on her birthday, May 26, which she’ll again be running in aid of Prostate Cancer UK and which she hopes to complete in less than two hours.
her third half-marathon attempt, again in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, in Edinburgh on her birthday, May 26, where she hopes to complete the run in less than two hours.
