Bute’s contribution to the annual Armed Forces Day celebrations took the form of a community market in Rothesay town centre on Saturday.

Organised by the Isle of Bute branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland, the event was attended by a large number of residents and visitors, ensuring that the stalls run by various local charities, businesses and other groups were kept busy throughout.

Live musical entertainment was provided by local artists Beth Swan and Jordan Kane, while Davy G and Mo from local internet station Radio Bute were MCs during the course of the day.

Community groups represented included Cancer Research UK, Bute Community Power, the Brianne Roberts Trust and the Bute branch of the Red Cross, while the local Army cadets turned their collective hand to catering at a burger stall which ensured a delicious aroma wafted over the square throughout the afternoon.
