Sixteen-year-old Kevin Lench, address given as 2 Lower Columshill Terrace, had previously pleaded guilty to wilfully and recklessly destroying or damaging property in an incident on Rothesay's main pier on October 23 last year.
Fiscal depute To
m Smyth told the court that Lench had challenged the driver of a car to fight, only for the vehicle to be driven off; 40 minutes later, while the car was parked at the pier, Lench repeated his challenge, smashing a bottle against the passenger window and breaking the driver's window by kicking it.
On being cautioned by police, Lench had said: "I done it cos he was growling at me."
Defending, Jim Hannay said: "Discipline appears to be missing from his life. He had taken a drink of vodka, which is bad for him.
"The reports which were asked for don't make good reading."
Sheriff Herald told Lench: "Let me make something clear, if you do not want to be in and out of prison, you will have to mend your ways.
"If you break your probation or compensation order in any way, it comes back to me, and I start again - when my decision will be not 'what', but 'how long'."
