BUTE'S annual celebration of the life and work of Scotland's national bard will begin with a glittering new addition to the calendar next weekend in the form of a traditional Burns supper at Mount Stuart.
Special guest chef Craig Ian McAlpine will be at the helm in the kitchen for A Celebration Of Burns, which takes place in the spectacular Marble Hall on Friday, January 22 from 8pm.

Speakers for the evening will include Gordon Kinniburgh, director of A Taste of Arran and owner of the Brodick-based Island Cheese Company, former Rothesay schoolteacher Ian White, and Lennie and Jean Moffat, who founded Telecom Service Centres Ltd on the island back in 1994.

As well as a delicious traditional supper, next Friday's event will also feature entertainment from the hugely talented Hebridean singer-songwriter Alyth McCormack, accompanied by Brian McAlpine, whose work has featured on the theatre and TV and who regularly performs with the Gordon Gunn Band and Session A9.

There's also a long list of exciting raffle prizes, with all the proceeds - along with ten per cent of the event's ticket sales - going to the Calum's Cabin charity appeal.

For more information, ticket prices etc contact Mount Stuart on (01700) 503877 or email contactus@mountstuart.com.
