THE Apple Tree Nursery has moved to thank the community after it raised a phenomenal £700 in its latest fundraiser.
Last Saturday, volunteer fundraisers helped out with bag-packing in Somerfield from 9am in the morning until the back of 5pm, and they raised a spectacular £706.06p for the nursery for their troubles.

Linsay McPherson at the Apple Tree is delight
ed at the sum raised, which will go a long way towards providing for a new outdoor play area at the back of the nursery.

"We are absolutely delighted," she said. "We're hoping to refurbish our back outdoor play area."

"We know that all grants now need you to match funding, so (Saturday's cash] is nice. Thank-you everyone.

"Hopefully between this and our gala day in April the two fundraisers will put us a good amount towards the money needed," she added.

The nursery's gala day will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 1pm to 4pm. Various stalls are expected to be held on the day, alongside some form of entertainment for the crowds.

Meanwhile, the children of Apple Tree Nursery would like to thank Betty & Eric Jarvie of Kilchattan Bay and everyone who donated to their annual display of Christmas lights.

They were able to purchase a doll's house and construction equipment as a result.
