Rothesay Academy pupils took part in a 12-hour Sportathon on March 24.

Pupils from Rothesay Academy raised more than £1,200 to help with the cost of trips to the mainland at a 12-hour ‘Sportathon’ at the school on Thursday.

The day’s events ran from 7am until 7pm and saw pupils participate in a huge variety of physical activities, from a ‘meta-training’ session to start the day to football, cricket, short tennis, table tennis, basketball, kick-boxing and even Danish longball (a new one on us!) to bring the day to a close.

Not even a broken nose for PE teacher Mr Ramsay - sustained during an enthusiastic sumo-wrestling session - could put a downer on the event, which raised a total of £1,207.10 for the school’s funds.

Everyone involved had certainly earned a long weekend’s rest by the end of the 12 hours!
