Puppet fest is back on Bute

THE arrival of spring means the return of the Scotland-wide Puppet Animation Festival to venues around the country – and this year there are two shows for Bute audiences to enjoy.

The first takes place next Thursday, April 5, and sees Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre come to Rothesay Pavilion with their version of Peter and the Wolf, written by the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev in 1936.

The Clydebuilt production concentrates on the story, and has a special musical soundtrack written by Douglas Kerr, allowing the life-sized animal puppets to tell their story of Peter’s trip to his grandfather’s cottage on the edge of The Great Forest and his triumph in catching the wolf – all by himself.

The show is suitable for children aged 4-10 years and with a running time of 55 minutes – see the ad elsewhere on this page for more information.
