This week’s Bits from Bygone Bute picture shows the pupils in an early-1940s class at Rothesay Public School.

It was handed in by Mhairi Ward (nee Davidson), although it actually belongs to her friend Augusta McGregor - both of them among those in the group. Not all the names are known: those who Mhairi has identified are as follows.
