The organisers of the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival have this week announced details of the line-up for the 2012 event.
Many favourites from 2011 and previous years make a welcome return to the bill, alongside several new names set to appear for the first time.
Those who saw one of the biggest hits on this year’s bill, Rose Room, will be delighted to learn that the group will be back next May, as will the Chicago Teddy Bears Society Jazz Band, TJ Johnson and his renowned blues band, Penman’s Jazzmen and one-man blues whirlwind Mike Whellans, to name but a few.
New names on the bill for 2012 include the Nova Scotia Jazz Band, the Jamie Brownfield Quintet and Stretch Dawrson and the Mending Hearts, though the last-named may be familiar to fans of the Bute Sunday Session, where they appeared in 2009.
And in a further piece of good news for jazz fans on Bute and beyond, ticket prices are to be held at their 2011 rates.
More details on the event - which takes place on May 4, 5 and 6 next year - can be found at the festival’s website (clink on link to the right of this story).
