Local farmer Willie Robertson was presented with two trophies at Bute Agricultural Society’s annual dance in Rothesay recently.

Willie, who farms at Birgidale Knock, was presented with the 150th Anniversary Trophy for the most points in the livestock sections at the society’s 2012 show last August, and the Royal Bank of Scotland Trophy for the most points in the same show’s sheep section.

The two trophies were presented by Mrs Ruby McFarlane, whose husband Alistair is the current BAS president, at the event at the Victoria Hotel on January 18.
