Speakers announced for tourism summit on Bute
Mount Stuar will host the 2013 Argyll and the Isles tourism summit on March 13.
The keynote speakers for next month’s Argyll and the Isles tourism summit, taking place on Bute for the first time, have been announced.
The event, taking place at Mount Stuart on Wednesday, March 13, will include addresses by Martin Dorchester, the managing director of Caledonian MacBrayne; Riddell Graham, VisitScotland’s director of partnerships; and James Withers, CEO of Scotland’s Food and Drink.
The summit will be Mr Dorchester’s first high-profile visit to Bute since his appointment in April 2012; he previously held senior management roles with Spicerhaart Group, the UK’s largest independent property company, the Dixon’s Argos, B&Q and Sainsbury’s retail firms, the London Borough of Hackney and the Maersk/Norfolkline shipping group.
The event, which is organised by the Argyll and the Isles Strategic Tourism Partnership, will also be addressed by James Stuart and Caroline Warburton.
The first Argyll and the Isles Tourism Summit was first held in Oban in 2011; last year’s event took place at the rapidly-expanding Portavadie Marina.
