Sales boost reported at Rothesay store
Like-for-like sales at the Rothesay branch of The Original Factory Shop increased by more than five per cent in the three months to September 30, the firm’s owners have announced.
Sales figures increased by 5.4 per cent on the same period in 2011, while the best-performing areas were hardware and electricals and homeware, up 8.7 per cent and 14/2 per cent respectively on the same three-month spell last year.
A spokesperson for the store said: “We’re well aware of how challenging the economy has become, both for businesses and shoppers, so for us to keep performing like we’ve been since the start of the year, it’s nothing short of fantastic.”
Like-for-like sales across The Original Factory Shop’s estate for the 26 weeks to September 30 rose by 5.8 per cent, while total sales grew by 13.6 per cent and pre-tax profits were up by 30 per cent.
The Original Factory Shop was established in 1969 and now has more than 180 stores in towns across the UK.
