A range of Bute organisations attended the inaugural ‘Give It A Go’ community volunteering event at the Moat Centre in Rothesay on Saturday.

Co-ordinated by the local adult learning department of Argyll and Bute Council, the event was attended by, among others, the council’s youth services team on Bute, the island’s Textile Arts group, the Help Project for young people in their first tenancies, Bute FM and Towards Zero Carbon Bute.

Carol Jones, the council’s adult learning development worker on Bute, who organised the event, said: “This is the first such event we’ve done, and we hope, if it’s successful and people have enjoyed it, to put it on every year.”
